Hollywood, California, is perhaps the most famous place for tourists. Among the activities found on the "Strip" are hordes of restaurants, the Walk of Fame, and hundreds of staple locations such as the Kodak Theater and Ripley's Believe It or Not. Of course, who can ever forget the Hollywood Wax Museum, probably the only place where you'll actually see stars?
But on one particular night, tourists and California patrons alike weren't ready for what was about to happen. You see, this night, and for this edition of Road Trippin', we decided to have CTL Motorsports take out three of their big-ass Hummers and give Hollywood a sight which they would not soon forget.
Prior to arriving at the Kodak Theater, we decided to cruise through Melrose Avenue and up to Sunset where we were welcomed with looks of both amazement and disgust. But nothing would dare compare to the same grunts and moans that we would get once we arrived to the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. As spectators stopped, stared, pointed and gawked at the sight of three $100,000+ Hummers, it was interesting to see just how intrigued and disgusted people became. Among the comments were "Holy Sh*t!", "Gooood Loooowdie!" and "WTF?!"
Q--What kind of gas mileage do you get?
A--Sh*tty.
Q--What do you mean?
A--When they're lifted like the blue or yellow one they get about four to six miles per gallon, but if you can afford to lift the trucks then it just shouldn't matter. You know what I mean? Just bring a gas card.
Q--What is the average cost and turn-around time to build one?
A--Lifting one of the H2s starts at about $17,500 and it takes three days to build if everything is in stock.
Q--How many have you built?
A--I've built more than 60.
Q--Who is your average customer and what do they do?
A--My average customer is really the average Joe. I've built them for chiropractors, for grocery store owners, all of the way to kids who just wanna roll in style. I've also built quite a few for celebs.
Q--What celebrities picked them up?
A--I'd love to tell you, but I respect their privacy.
Q--How high is the blue one?
A--The blue one has close to about 18 inches of suspension lift and the yellow one has about 14 inches.
Q--What's the wildest thing a girl's done to get your attention?
A--When we drove them into SEMA last year, girls were running up to our trucks and kissing the glass and the door handles.
Q--So this isn't the best vehicle for the married man?
A--Why not, dude?
Q--How did you get started in the business?
A--At about 14 years old, I worked with my uncle who was a Mercedes mechanic and that really started me off. At the age of 16, I showed and dragged my first car which was a '57 oval-window Volkswagen Bug that was painted Pepto-Bismol pink. It did 10s in the quarter.
Q--With a truck this big, we take it that the cops must love you?
A--Most of the cops are pretty cool, but there is this one cop who always gets me on the 605 freeway. I tell you, this dude always gets me and he's like 5'2" and he always screams like a little girl every time that he pulls me over.
Q--They say that a guy with big shoes wears big socks. So what does a guy with a big truck have?
A--Big tires!
Q--How long does it take to inflate one of these tires and what happens if you get a flat?
A--You'd be surprised; inflating one of these tires is just like inflating any other tire. They only hold 20 pounds of air pressure and if you do happen to get a flat just don't hit the brakes.

Women say that a man with...

Women say that a man with big shoes... well, weras big socks, so we asked three women what they though of a man who drives a really, really big truck. Here's what they had to say...

NIECE I've rode in big trucks...

NIECE
I've rode in big trucks before and they ride too rough. Besides, if I'm going for a long ride then I want it to be smooth. Either way, the most important thing to remember is that it's not how big your truck is... it's how well they drive it!

JAMIN They're attractive....

JAMIN
They're attractive. They look good because it gives off an impression of muscularity. Personally, I know I want a big truck, but looking at these trucks makes me think that the owner has a lot of big things--a big house, big pockets and big everything, so I think that it's a good thing and it says a lot about the complete package of the owner... and I mean package.

ANNIE Guys with big trucks...

ANNIE
Guys with big trucks are trying to attract attention, but I give this guy props because it's hooked up right and when you're driving it you're always looking down on people around you. That's sexy and empowering. Besides, it's actually his truck and I like that because guys are always trying to pick up on girls with cars that they don't own.
